Round 3 Round-up PDF Print E-mail

“F-troop” do it again!!

So, here we are at the completion of round 4. This week saw JL’s merry men (minus yours truly) take on Balga at home. This thrilling match, with more highlights than a mud wrestle between Pamela Anderson and Paris Hilton, was played over 2 days.

Day one saw “F-Troop” batting first, it seems Balga can read the news papers and happened to stumble across the previous weeks batting results, it just goes to show that some things do change..The start of the innings resembled that of other matches, this being a top-end collapse. Fortunately Lindsey Sawyer was brought up for the match and there was, at least, some runs to be had early. The star of the innings goes to Allan Deleany whom dug deep and not only brought "F-Troop” to a proud total but earned him the “Baggy-Blue” cap for his awesome tonn! Onya Al!!

Day 2 and it’s our turn to field, yours truly decided to take the heavy responsibility of being square-leg ump, mainly to keep a check on the umpire, and at least stand with my fellow “F-Troop”. The bowling started with a flurry, wickets tumbling, catches being held with the first innings win coming to an end after the  22nd over. The last 3 wickets coming from, and I quote Grumpy” Geez Mackie, how can you take wickets with that crap? It’s worth mentioning that “this crap” took a Hat-trick!! Onya mate!!  JL, without question is heading for the outright win. This brings me to our latest “fill-in”, Grumpy. Not having seen him before I was a little puzzled as to how his nickname came about, didn’t take long, and I must say it fits. The second bowling innings started a little flat, but did eventually bring home the outright...All in all a good result for the boys.

 Highlights:

 Big Al’s Tonn  and John Mackie’s Hat-trick.
